Sir Peter Hall's video life story now available on Peoples Archive

Watch and listen for free to Sir Peter Hall tell his life story exclusively on Peoples Archive, the online on-demand video archive dedicated to filming some of the world's greatest thinkers, creators and achievers.

Peoples Archive offers the opportunity to hear this renowned theatre director share his thoughts about the business, including his retracing of the path that led him to become such an iconic figure of British theatre. Supported by the guidance of his listener, author John Goodwin, the viewer travels through the life of Sir Peter Hall and gains a unique insight into his creative thought process. For over 3 hours, he reminisces about both the opportunities and obstacles that shaped his career, including his creation of the Royal Shakespeare Company and his work at the National Theatre.

It is with great pleasure that we welcome the life story of the acclaimed British theatre director, and founder of The Royal Shakespeare Company, Sir Peter Hall, to Peoples Archive. Without a doubt, it is a great privilege to be able to sit down, and watch and listen to 76-year-old Sir Peter talk with passion about - amongst other things - his long and distinguished career in the theatre.

The material has been broken down into 40 stories, all titled and presented chronologically. They are accompanied by word accurate transcripts and additional resources including: a complete bibliography, biography as well as external links to relevant websites.

Sir Peter Hall's life story is available to view free on the Peoples Archive website and can also be purchased on DVD-ROM. Downloads for iPods and other mobile devices will soon be offered on the site as well as through the Google Video store.

Peoples Archive currently contains 36 life stories, totalling over 200 hours of video divided into 4418 segments. The Archive is grouped in seven sections: Arts, Film, Literature, Masters, Medicine, Politics and Science. Future additions to the Archive include the writer Doris Lessing and the team of Architects Venturi-Scott Brown.
