In Memoriam : John Maynard Smith

It is with sadness that we report the passing of John Maynard Smith who died peacefully at home on 19 April 2004

Maynard Smith was best known for his use of mathematical analyses in biology and in particular for the application of game theory to evolution and animal behaviour.
