PRIVACY POLICY FOR PEOPLES ARCHIVE

Peoples Archive is operated by Web of Stories Limited.

In order for you to enjoy all the exciting things Peoples Archive has to offer we may need to ask you to give us some information about yourself from time to time (such as your name, address, e-mail address and information about your interests). We take the privacy of any personal information you give us very seriously, and this policy tells you how we collect information from you, what we use your information for, and your rights in relation to this.

What personal information is collected about me?

When you register with Peoples Archive, we may ask you to give us information such as your name, address and e-mail address. We call this "personal information".

We also collect details you provide to us for the purposes of payment, for example credit card details. We call this "financial information"

You don't have to give us your personal information, but if you don't then you may not be able to use some or all of the facilities available at Peoples Archive.

How do you use that personal information?

We will use the personal information you give us to identify you and enable you to access Peoples Archive, to contact you and communicate with you, and to keep you informed of information about Peoples Archive and other products and services offered by Web of Stories Limited.

If you have given us your permission we may also share the information with third parties who may use it to contact you about products and or services offered by third parties other than Web of Stories Limited.

We will not use financial information for any purpose other than for the payment of amounts due to Web of Stories Limited.

Do you share my information with anyone else?

We will only share your personal information with someone else if you have given us your permission to do so or the law says that we have to do this or if we believe that we need to do this to protect and defend our or your rights, property or personal safety.

We will not share financial information with anybody else other than for the purposes of processing your payment to us.

Security

We place great importance on the security of your personal information, and we have taken security measures to try to prevent the loss, misuse and alteration of personal information that we collect and hold. While we cannot ensure or guarantee that loss, misuse or alteration of your personal information will not occur, we will do our best to try to make sure that this does not happen.

Use of cookies

Peoples Archive uses cookies to track usage. For auto login a cookie is sent from our server and is stored on your computer's hard drive.

Session cookies are also sent from our server to your computer and used for session management. However these cookies do not remain on your hard drive on completion of your session.

Cookies are used by Peoples Archive to:

  • Enable us to identify you without having to ask you for username and password.
  • Measure usage.
  • Track movement within the Peoples Archive site.

If you do not wish to accept any of these cookies or wish to be notified when a cookie is sent you can modify your browser preferences. If you choose to refuse to accept session cookies then you will not be able to use Peoples Archive. If you choose to accept the session cookies but refuse the permanent cookie that is saved on your computer's hard drive then you will not be able to use the Auto login facility.

Where is the information stored?

We keep any personal information you send to us on a computer located in the United Kingdom.

Your acceptance of these terms

If you use Peoples Archive we will assume that you have read through this policy carefully, and understand and accept it. If you do not agree to anything in this policy, then you should not use Peoples Archive. If we change our privacy policy we will post these changes on this page. If the change in our privacy policy affects the way in which we may use your personal information, then we will do our best to contact you to make sure you agree to this.

Your rights

You have a legal right to a copy of all the personal information that we hold about you. You also have a right to ask us to correct any mistakes in that information. You also have a right to ask us to stop using your personal information at any time.

You may amend the information held about you and update your preferences by accessing and changing your profile in Peoples Archive.
